I am a retired court reporter now working part time as a proofreader. In December 2010 I returned to my roots in Deep East Texas to care for my aging mother after having lived in Arizona for over 30 years. I live on a farm in Nacogdoches County near the Louisiana border. This blog is a repository for pictures of subjects that I find interesting in my travels up and down the country roads throughout the Piney Woods. I love to take pictures of farm animals and equipment, old houses, barns and sheds and anything that has vines or rust on it.

I have an African Grey, and he does that really well...
You ruffled his feathers, too!

He may be wary, but he's also beautiful!
He's just making sure that camera isn't a dangerous weapon.
And now he's giving us the stink eye...thanks for sharing the "love" Kathy. ;)
Aw, you know I am infatuated with this bird. I love what you did with the photo!
He is so colorful but I wouldn't want to stick my finger too close when he's looking like that!
But a very colorful one though.
OOPS! Did you say something?
He doesn't look very happy with you. Where's his cracker?
Ah what a beauty!!
I think he is missing some peanuts.
