Linda Llama - The Truth Revealed

For those of you who have been following the Adventures of Linda Llama, I must inform you that there is somewhat of a scandal here on Pine Hill because it has come to light that Linda is NOT who we all thought.  Yes, friends, Linda is an imposter.  The neighbors are all whispering, there is some embarrassment to be admitted, some of the more crass citizens are actually snickering.  So I feel it’s just best to come right out and tell you, put the rumors aside, and start fresh with a clean slate.

As you may remember, at some point last year Linda’s mate met with an untimely death and she has had no friends or loved ones other than a bunch of cows and a couple of donkeys since then.  But a few weeks ago I brought you the news that Linda had some new companions, Dolly  Llama and her little daughter Molly along with a new male to be gradually introduced to Linda.  Linda finally discovered the new llamas and started hanging around in the area where they were corraled.  Eventually Dolly and Molly were turned out of their enclosure so they could roam the farm to their hearts’ content and mingle with the other animals.  But one day Mrs. Powers That Be happened to notice some very strange activity between Linda and Dolly.  That’s when the cat got let out of the bag, for, you see, Linda is NOT a female!  Here all along we thought “she” was just a cute little girly-girl when in reality she should have been named Larry !  Yep, you got it.  Linda is a cross-dresser and has been dressing in girl llama fur and fooling us all!  So now instead of writing about how pretty Linda is I guess I’ll be telling you how handsome Larry is.  I know this is a shock to you all, but we must go on.

I still have yet to introduce you to the new boy on the block.  The Powers That Be are thinking they’re a little heavy in the boy llama department right now so we’ll have to see what develops in the future!

Linda Gets a Makeover

A few of you had commented on the last couple of posts of The Adventures of Linda Llama that Linda was beginning to look a little shabby.  Well, here she is in her new do.  Mrs. Powers That Be spent a few days recently giving Linda a much needed makeover.  Now that she's all soft and combed and without all that dirty grimy stuff in her beautiful coat, her highlights really shine!  I almost didn't recognize her the first time I saw her with her natural hair color.  It's amazing what a little grooming will do for us ladies!  So keep that in mind, girls, the next time you get a little frazzled looking, head on out to the salon or the spa for a little bit of pampering.  It will bring out the new you!

I don't have any  news to report on the new additions to the herd, Dolly and Molly and as yet, the undisclosed name of the new male llama, but a little birdie tells me that there is going to be some shocking news announced in a press conference in the next couple of weeks.  So, please, stay tuned daily for The Adventure of Linda Llama (drum roll here)!

The New Kids on the Block - Adventures of Linda Llama

A few days ago I announced that my friend Linda Llama, the star of my Adventures of Linda Llama series, was going to be getting a new companion.  Well, jeepers creepers, not only did she get one, she got three!  May I take this opportunity to introduce you to Dolly Llama (not to be confused with the guy who wears the orange robe) and her baby daughter Molly!  Dolly and Molly are staying in a separate corral for the next few days with a friendly horse, who is also new to the Powers That Be.  They will be transported in a few days to another area of the farm after they've had a chance to get used to their new surroundings.  I understand that the third new addition is presently residing in the goat pen down at the barn.  I have not yet had the opportunity to meet him, although I have chosen a name for him already but I'll have to wait to make sure his name fits his personality.  I think it will be the best name of the new llama family.  So here we go, folks!  Drum roll!

When I went up to introduce these gals to the neighborhood, Molly called out to Dolly:  Hey, ma, we got a visitor.

DOLLY:  I don't know about her,. Molly.  Remember what I've told you a dozen times.  Don't talk to strangers.  We don't know these people here and who knows what their intentions are.

DOLLY:  You stay here, Molly, and I'll go check her out.  She's got two black boxes that she holds up to her face and they make clicking noises.

DOLLY:  This person is a sneaky so-and-so.  She's come up behind us, Molly, on the other side of the fence.  I don't know about her.  If she gets any closer, I'm going to spit on her!

MOLLY:  (to me)  My ma hasn't taught me how to spit yet.  I can't wait till I can do that.

MOLLY:  I think she's harmless, ma.  Isn't it about time for lunch?  I'm getting hungry.

DOLLY:  Come on, Molly.  Let's go over here where we can have some privacy.  Let's put a couple more fences between us and that sneaky lady.  We'll have to talk with the Powers That Be to find out if she's okay to talk to.

Anxiously Awaiting - The Adventures of Linda Llama

Now what could Linda be waiting for while she's watching herd over the herd?  Powers that be (you don't know it but this is somewhat of a pun since Linda is owned by the Powers family) say that Linda may be getting a new mate!  The big day just might even be tomorrow.  The new guy may be a little shy at first so all you bloggedy-blog bloggers will probably have to wait a while until he's ready for his coming-out party.

Official Portrait

THE ADVENTURES OF LINDA LLAMA

Linda poses for her official portrait in a pastoral setting

(Note:  I am off on a three-day beautiful historic Texas courthouse trek
starting Friday morning.
I'm hoping to add between 13 and 15 courthouse photos to the 19 or so I've already photographed.
Hopefully there will be some other subjects in there too - like ghost signs, rundown Americana,
some Victorian houses, and maybe even a horse or two!)

Linda Llama on the Move

The Adventures of Linda Llama

Linda starts her day with a brisk walk around the property to make sure no critters got in during the night and are lurking in the shadows.

Linda Llama Looks and Listens

I've been thinking about starting a new series called the Adventures of Linda Llama featuring our neighbors' llama.  I have a few pictures of her and a series (not too frequently, mind you) will give me an excuse to take more.  Today while driving down the road, as I passed their pond I noticed quite a few of their cows were lolling around in the shade around the pond but better yet I spotted the llama lying down in the water just a few feet from the bank.  I wanted to stop and see if I could get a picture but it was over a hundred degrees out and I had a truckload full of groceries, including two tubs of Blue Bell ice cream, but it was just enough to give me a push to start the Adventures of Linda Llama.  Enjoy and stay tuned for more pictures of Linda.
