Someone once loved their roses. They probably brightened their day and those of their employees as everyone came to work. They are still so beautiful now as the building decays.
this gives me a sad feeling, maybe melancholy is the word.. everything is dying but the flowers live on and make me wonder if God is taking care of them or someone else is.
I am a retired court reporter now working part time as a proofreader. In December 2010 I returned to my roots in Deep East Texas to care for my aging mother after having lived in Arizona for over 30 years. I live on a farm in Nacogdoches County near the Louisiana border. This blog is a repository for pictures of subjects that I find interesting in my travels up and down the country roads throughout the Piney Woods. I love to take pictures of farm animals and equipment, old houses, barns and sheds and anything that has vines or rust on it.

That is a strange combination indeed. But it brightens up the dull surroundings.

Quite the contrast, the flowers versus the walls.
That rose bush is awesome. I haven't seen such a bloom in well kept gardens, let alone on the street like that.

Those neglected roses look healthier than mine do. You must have gotten some good rains.
That is a huge rose bush and so healthy looking for such a derelict spot.
