I am a retired court reporter now working part time as a proofreader. In December 2010 I returned to my roots in Deep East Texas to care for my aging mother after having lived in Arizona for over 30 years. I live on a farm in Nacogdoches County near the Louisiana border. This blog is a repository for pictures of subjects that I find interesting in my travels up and down the country roads throughout the Piney Woods. I love to take pictures of farm animals and equipment, old houses, barns and sheds and anything that has vines or rust on it.

LOL! Indeed, Kathy.

super shot for sure!! love it. and it would be hard to get a hoof up that high to scratch that pretty nose.
At least it was the good end you caught him/her scratching!
Oh my goodness Kathy, this is WONDERFUL!!
I am sure this happened in a flash, yet you composed it so beautifully.
A truly fantastic image!

LoL! Quick thinking to get this shot! =)
Yesterday we saw a cow scratching her butt on a limb.
Too funny and ouch!
Thats A Fact!
So funny! Great use of what ya got.
I guess I never thought of how a horse would scratch an itch, this says it all!
I know exactly how this critter feels! Only it's my back.
Now my nose itches too. :)
I hope he doesn't get a splinter itching his nose!
Great perspective!
Sometimes it is an advantage to be a horse ....
