It's simply amazing that something so fragile could weather the storms we had last night. On my walk looking for my photo of the day I expected to see bare rose bushes, but I was surprised to find that roses survived torrential rains and winds up to 70 mph overnight. In my neighborhood we got about an inch of rain (almost doubling our to-date annual rainfall of 2.7 inches!) and other areas of the Valley received up to two inches. Flagstaff had blizzard conditions and two feet of snow! So those of you in the Midwest, batten down the hatches because it's coming your way!
Today's News: My mom (age 88) got an all clear today from her cardiologist. She called me this morning to let me know she thought she would be in the hospital by tonight because they put her on a Holter monitor yesterday and every time she's ever worn the monitor she's gone in for stent placement. Well, this year she's doing just fine. Last week she had a good report from the urologist - no new bladder tumors!
Today in History: 1980 - John Lennon is shot and killed in front of The Dakota in NYC.

Beautiful roses! Great news on your mom too.
The storm is here! Cold, cold winds and a bit of snow. I guess I've never thought of there being roses in the winter...even in a warm climate. Glad to hear your mom is doing well.
Good news on Grandmother!
