Tower Life Building - San Antonio
One of San Antonio's landmarks is the Tower Life Building, an eight-sided neo-Gothic historic structure which was completed in 1929. It is reported to have gargoyles, but I must say I missed those while I was riding the trolley. Thirty stories and 403 feet tall, it has a coppe top which supports a 100-foot flagpole. In earlier days it housed San Antonio's first Sears Roebuck store which occupied the first six floors. I loved the mixture of old and new in San Antonio's downtown.

Handsome building. How interesting that it has eight side! I like a city that mixes old with new, too.
our old sears never looked this good..
I love these high-rise buildings from the 20's. They always have such character.
I remember seeing this building. You got a good shot of it from the trolley.
wow. pretty cool, and just a bit creepy!
It's a beautiful old building!
What a cool building! I hope they maintain it for years to come. It definitely stands out from the rest of the crowd:)
Beautiful historic building.
Another good find. I can't imagine a Sears in a building like that.
