This is one of my mother's roses. They have been sorely neglected since she's been ill (I know absolutely nothing about how to tend for them) but I managed to find a pretty one for the camera.
I am a retired court reporter now working part time as a proofreader. In December 2010 I returned to my roots in Deep East Texas to care for my aging mother after having lived in Arizona for over 30 years. I live on a farm in Nacogdoches County near the Louisiana border. This blog is a repository for pictures of subjects that I find interesting in my travels up and down the country roads throughout the Piney Woods. I love to take pictures of farm animals and equipment, old houses, barns and sheds and anything that has vines or rust on it.

Wow, it's so big! I love the color too!
That is a lovely Rose. Just give it some water and a little love and I am sure they will be fine.
oh, love the way you snapped this with the angle of the fence behind... beautiful!
I agree with texwisgirl ... great composition!
What a pretty color!
Ah, I love this rose. Would your mother like to see it, too?
lovely, she will love a bloom by her bedside.
Kathy! This is perfect in so many ways. I love it. I can just about smell the fragrance. Beautifully photographed, Girl. :)
Have a great weekend.
Hi Kathy! Such a lovely rose. Pretty coral shade. Happy weekend! :)
How pretty, I like that you captured the fence in the background. It makes the photo interesting.
I have never been able to keep roses alive. Our has had a rose garden when we move it, sadly it is no longer with us!
