Vine Nibbler
This big Belgian horse strolled right up to meet me at the fence and then very nonchalantly began nibbling on the vine that covers the fence. Which would not be unique at all except for the fact that this species of vine (which the locals call bamboo vine), although very pretty with its heart-shaped leaves, is absolutely covered with thorns, the kind that make you say "Ow!" whenever you touch them every so slightly. I guess a horse's mouth is much tougher than a lady's fingers!

What a gorgeous horse!
It hurts just thinking about it!
Great shot ... and his look!
he was just trying to show you how macho he is. :) and it worked!
Hmmm. Sometimes I wonder about what horses (an dogs) eat. :)
I guess you are right. I've seen horses eat all kinds of prickly things! He sure is a beauty!
I just love these big gentle giants!
What a cutie. I wondered about the thorns.
What a beautiful horse! I guess having a bit in your mouth most of your life toughens your mouth a bit. Ha! I made a funny.
Either that or they are very tasty vines and worth getting pricked. I wish chocolate was thorny...maybe I would eat less of it then.
