- Nacogdoches County, Texas
- I am a retired court reporter now working part time as a proofreader. In December 2010 I returned to my roots in Deep East Texas to care for my aging mother after having lived in Arizona for over 30 years. I live on a farm in Nacogdoches County near the Louisiana border. This blog is a repository for pictures of subjects that I find interesting in my travels up and down the country roads throughout the Piney Woods. I love to take pictures of farm animals and equipment, old houses, barns and sheds and anything that has vines or rust on it.

Wasn't it Animal Planet that had a series on these busy little animals a couple of years ago? They live by a whole set of rules that are enforced by the boss cat!

I love these animals. Many years ago I bought a video of a Smithsonian film on Meerkats and I watched that thing dozens of times. About the 2nd or 3rd time I played it, I noticed that one of my cats was mesmerized by it. That cat sat on it's hind legs (much like this meerkat is doing) and watched the TV. In a box somewhere I have got pictures of it.
