Ratcliff Lake
The Davy Crockett National Forest, named for the legendary pioneer who gave his life fighting for Texas freedom at the Battle of the Alamo, contains more than 160,000 acres of East Texas woodlands, streams, recreation areas, and wildlife habitat. Located in Houston and Trinity Counties, the forest is centrally located within the Neches and Trinity River basins. It is a diverse forest of towering pines, bottomland hardwoods, upland forests, and boggy slews.

Lovely Lake. Can I ramble with you?
When I think of Texas, woodlands and forests are not the first thing that comes to mind, but on our travels we have seen some beautiful forests and recreation areas throughout the state. This is a lovely spot.

That's a gorgeous shot of a tranquil lake scene!
At first I thought I was seeing a touch of fall in the background but, I bet the shades of brown are more about the lack of rain than the changing seasons.
