poor little guy, maybe he got into it with a blue jay or black bird. we have noticed those three fussy and fighting lately. the missus looks so sweet.. and he is so brilliant.
I am a retired court reporter now working part time as a proofreader. In December 2010 I returned to my roots in Deep East Texas to care for my aging mother after having lived in Arizona for over 30 years. I live on a farm in Nacogdoches County near the Louisiana border. This blog is a repository for pictures of subjects that I find interesting in my travels up and down the country roads throughout the Piney Woods. I love to take pictures of farm animals and equipment, old houses, barns and sheds and anything that has vines or rust on it.

He does look a little battle-weary! Great shots!
Maybe the Mrs. got a hold of him with some little chickadee.
they're just beautiful.

I Love, love, love your cardinal photos. I especially enjoy the female photos. . .such lovely little creatures!!
These cardinals are so well behaved allowing you to take such wonderful photos of them!
Great shots of the Cards.
You are so lucky to have these little jewels around. Living yard decorations! Perfect!
What fantastic shots these are. Such beautiful birds. I love the one posing. I can almost picture a gorgeous model in that same exact pose.
We have two red guys in the crape myrtle outside my sunroom window that Meeps ( my chat noir) loves to supervise. What great shots you have here.

Great shots! He does look a little worse for the wear. I bet his appetite is still good though. They are little pigs.
Cardinals are what got me into birding in the first place, so they will always be special to me. Very nice portraits of our colorful friend. :)
