I am a retired court reporter now working part time as a proofreader. In December 2010 I returned to my roots in Deep East Texas to care for my aging mother after having lived in Arizona for over 30 years. I live on a farm in Nacogdoches County near the Louisiana border. This blog is a repository for pictures of subjects that I find interesting in my travels up and down the country roads throughout the Piney Woods. I love to take pictures of farm animals and equipment, old houses, barns and sheds and anything that has vines or rust on it.

love the soft color! could almost smell them!
Flowers... another work of art.
They are lovely. Even as they fade away.
Roses are wonderful any time of the year, fragrant and beautiful.
The fragrance is coing from my deck as I see your photo today. Scratch and sniff?
You can really almost smell them.

i love the texture of the dying leaves and flowers even more than the rose petals.. beautiful and it says LIFE.
A rose by any other name.....
I bet they smell heavenly!
I would have to stop and smell them.
I like the slight touch of pink- very pretty.
These are beautiful, Kathy. Makes one think of time's past, or dressy parties, and fancy parlors and porch swings!
Pretty! They look like my grandmother's roses. I can almost smell them right now.
Lovely even as some of them a going by.
